Eileen R. Dickson
1918-2012
Miramichi - Eileen Roseanne Dickson, widow of the late Benjamin J. Dickson, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the age of 93.
Born in Douglasfield, on December 13, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Dickison) Power. She was a homemaker and, at the time of her passing, was the oldest member of her church, the United Pentecostal Church, on King St., Miramichi.
She is survived by five daughters, Lillian Ball, of Niagara Falls, Ont., Clara Collette, of Miramichi, Violet Matthews (Roland), of London, Ont., Jean Carroll, of Miramichi, Geraldine Arbeau (Campbell), of Miramichi; three sons, Benjamin, William, John (Wendy) Dickson, all of Miramichi; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, in 2006; one son, Robert Dickson; two sisters, Jessie and Mamie; two brothers, William and Vincent Power.
Visitation was held at the King St. United Pentecostal Church, 146 King Street, on Sunday, from where the funeral service was held, on Monday, February 6, 2012, at 11 am, conducted by Pastor Brent Carter, assisted by Pastor Ron Carroll. The hymns were "Amazing Grace"and "When We All Get To Heaven". Solos were offered by grandson, David Arbeau, "Sheltered Safe in The Arms Of God" and grand daughter, Marlene Boucher, "The Purple Robe". Scripture readings and personal remarks were given by grandson, Pastor Ron Carroll and the eulogy was presented by grandchildren, Jennifer Sonier and David Arbeau.
The honorary pallbearers were Campbell and Alvin Arbeau, Todd Dickson, Roland Matthews, Larry Keane, Daryl Dickson. Active pallbearers were Shawn Carroll, Paul Matthews, Jordan Sonier, Joel Dickson, Brad Dunnett, Neil Carroll. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, later in the spring.
