Michael Lloyd
1928-2010
Miramichi - Michael Lloyd, husband of the late Rose V. Lloyd, of Bridgeview Drive, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday afternoon, June 25, 2010, at the age of 81.
Born in Chatham, on October 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Michael and Ethel (Astles) Lloyd. He was a twenty-one year retired employee of N.B. Telephone Co. Ltd.; a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and attended St. Samuels Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Lloyd,of Moncton; three sons, Charles Lloyd (Leslie), of Sylvan Lake, AB, George Lloyd (Lynn), of Miramichi, William Lloyd (Lucie), of Ottawa, Ont.; eleven grandchildren, Mandy, Adam, Bethany, Veronica, Joshua, Katlyn, Mikey, Tracy, Kendall, Pascale, Angelic; seven great grandchildren, Kyle, Raven, Tyler, Jasmine, Sarah, Livia, Kaidence; one sister Pearl LaTulippe, of Miramichi; two brothers, George Lloyd and Earl Lloyd (Verona), all of Miramichi; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rose Keoughan, in 2008.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Samuels Roman Catholic church, Miramichi, on Monday, June 28, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father Maurice Swift. Music for the Mass was provided by Mrs. Jacqueline Allain. The scriptures were read by Lynn Lloyd and Lucie Lloyd and the Prayers of Intercession were led by Lynn Lloyd. Family memories were offered by Andy Clark.
The honorary pallbearers were George Lloyd, Earl Lloyd, John Underhill, Ed Skidd, Ron Kierstead, Ron Culligan. The active pallbearers were Mike Lloyd, Bill Lloyd, George Lloyd, Mikey Lloyd, Adam Lloyd, Chris LaTulippe. Interment was in the church cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Oncology Outpatient Clinc or the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.
