In Loving Memory of Christopher G. Sonier

1974 – 2024

Christopher George Sonier of Calgary, AB, and formerly of Miramichi, NB, passed away in Calgary, AB, at the age of 49.

Born in Toronto, ON, on September 12, 1974, he was the son of Gail Anne Sonier and the late George Sonier.  Chris was a Red Seal Plumber Pipefitter by trade for 27 years.  He attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Calgary, and St. Michael’s Basilica in Miramichi.

Chris is survived by his mother, Gail Anne Sonier; three sons: Kaden Sonier (Samantha), Jordan Sonier and Carson Sonier; grandchild, Riley Sonier Ross; two brothers: Shaun Sonier, and Adam Sonier (Jenny); nephew, Justin Sonier; as well as numerous aunts and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father, George Sonier.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12 PM– 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM, from St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael's Choir and the hymns were "Here I Am Lord", "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Amazing Grace", "Taste & See", "Allelujah", "Songs Of The Angels" and the recessional hymn was "Into Your Hands".  The scripture readings were read by sons: Jordan and Carson and the eulogy was presented by son, Kaden.  The Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by son, Jordan.  Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date and the Urn Carrier was son, Carson.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
