In Loving Memory of Jenna E. Handrahan

1991 – 2024

Jenna Elizabeth Handrahan of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 24, 2024, at the age of 32.

Jenna was born in Chatham, NB, on August 10, 1991, she was the daughter of Sean and Marlene (Cook) Handrahan.  Our family is devastated by this sudden loss.  In 2015, Jenna was diagnosed with a Rare Disease – Acromegaly.

Jenna’s pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.  The simplest pleasures in life brought so much joy to Jenna, especially her nephew Colson.  She truly enjoyed all moments spent with family and friends and especially loved her pets Cali & Sonic.

Jenna was an employee at Horizon Health as a Nursing Unit Clerk for the past 7 years.  She truly enjoyed her job and considered her co-workers family.

Besides her parents, Jenna is survived by her life partner, Jamie LaPointe; her only sister, Shauna Handrahan (Tanner Curtis); and her beloved nephew, Colson Curtis; her loving and devoted grandmothers: Barbara Cook, and Elizabeth Lewis; aunts and uncles: Judy L’Huillier (Donnie), Melanie Cook (Jason Foran), Greg Cook (Melissa MacDonald), Brenda Oleshko (Dale), Karen McCluskey (Shawn), Allen Lewis Jr. (Shirley), Tammy O’Connor, Mary Dunfield (Paul), and Cory Lewis (Nancy); extra special cousin, Mason McCluskey; and best friend since kindergarten, Mindy Williston; Godmother Kim Hotton; as well as many loving cousins.  She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Patrick Cook; paternal grandfather, Allen Lewis; and uncle/Godfather, Danny Handrahan.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to the Miramichi Police Force, Ambulance NB, Emergency Room Staff and all nurses, Dr. Krueger, Dr. Mah and Dr. Rigley.  Jenna often spoke highly of Dr. Rigley and his expertise and dedication were certainly shown towards Jenna.

As per Jenna’s wishes there was no visitation.  A Celebration of Jenna’s Life was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 at 11 AM, with The Reverend Keith Carter officiating, followed by a reception at Adams Funeral Home.  Music for the service was provided by Cory Fowlie and Dom Hache and the songs were: "In The Garden", "Dancing In The Sky", "Sunshine On My Shoulders" and the recessional song was "You Are My Sunshine".  The eulogy was written by Mindy Williston, but was presented by Ashlee Ward.  A poem was read by Judy L'Huillier and the Lord's Prayer was lead by Joey Cook.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
