Allen F. Dickson
1955 - 2019
Allen Floyd Dickson, beloved husband of Mary (Nowlan) Dickson of Medicine Hat, AB and formerly of Napan passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the age of 63 years.
Born in Chatham, on April 27, 1955 he was the son of the late Walter and Stella (Campbell) Dickson. Allen worked for the Dept. of National Defence as a Heavy Equipment operator at the former CFB Chatham Base. He also worked for Midland Transport travelling throughout the US and Canada where he earned his 1 Million accident free mile award. In 2006 he moved to Albert with his truck to work and be close to his children. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Detroit Red Wings and he will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Nowlan) Dickson; two sons: Randy (Tammy) and Donnie (Krista) all of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren: Lucas, Emmet and Reid Dickson all of Medicine Hat; two brothers: Wilmer Dickson and Frank Dickson (Kelly) all of Napan. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert and sisters-in-law Edith and Mary-Anne Dickson.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Hymns for the service were “Amazing Grace” “ON Eagle’s Wings” and the recessional hymn was “In The Sweet By and By”.
Pallbearers were Lenny Gilliss, Ron Kelly, Jeffrey Nowlan, Ricky Henry, Don Brown and Alex Brown. Interment will be held in the Pine Grove Cemetery later in the spring.
