Brenda C. Maresh
1956 – 2019
Brenda Christina Maresh, spouse of Gary Williston of Bay du Vin, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday morning, December 31, 2019 at the age of 63.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A, on June 6, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (MacDougall) Horton. She was a Special Care Giver and a School Bus driver.
She is survived by her spouse Gary Williston; three daughters: Melanie (Peter) McCrae, Christina (Jamie) Cook and Charlene (Wendell) Doak; step-children: Chrissy Williston (Paul Cassidy) and Terry Williston; six grandchildren: Carter Maresh, Alyson Doak, Bailey Harris, Taylor-Rae Cook, Julie-Anna Cook and David Cassidy; one brother, Daryl Horton and niece Jenny Vienneau. She was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held at St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1 pm with The Rev. David Allan officiating. The music for the service was provided by David Mann and church choir and the hymn was “In The Garden”. A special song “Second Time Around” was sung by Gary Williston. The lighting of the Christ Candle and Memorial Candles was by Taylor-Rae Cook and Alyson Doak and the scripture readers were Wendell Gregan and Kaye McClellan. The eulogy was presented by Charlene Doak.
Honorary pallbearers were Kathy Durelle, Beth Guimond, Geraldine Guimond, Eliza Henderson, John Henderson, Darlene Irvine, Lee Walsh and Danny Williston. Interment will held in the Black River Community Cemetery later in the spring.
