Carol J. Dickson
1944 – 2019
Carol Joan Dickson, wife of Plen Dickson of Miramichi, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday evening, February 21, 2019 at the age of 74.
Born in Saint John, NB, on December 18, 1944, she was the daughter of Gordon Rinehart and the late Joan (Abbot) Rinehart. She was a homemaker. A member of St. Andrew’s United Church and the U.C.W. She was involved with a Knitting Club and always enjoyed Tuesday’s Ladies Coffee Club.
She is survived by her husband Plen Dickson; father: Gordon Rinehart of Saint John; two daughters: Janice Keenan (David) of Ottawa and Nancy Hughes (Mike) of Woodstock; one son: Randy Dickson of Miramichi; five grandchildren: Thomas, Evan and Luke Keenan, Nick and Riley Hughes; one sister: Vickie Albright (Wayne) of Woodstock; two brothers: Ron Rinehart (Cathy) of Fredericton and Kim Rinehart (Lorna) of Saint John. She was predeceased by her mother Joan Rinehart.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 7-9 pm and also on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Miramichi on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Music for the service was provided by David Mann and St. Andrew’s Choir. The hymns were “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”, “Jesus, You Have Come to the Lakeshore” and “We Shall Go Out with Hope of Resurrection” and the recessional hymn was “Go Now in Peace”. The lighting of the memory candle was done by Janice Keenan and Randy Dickson. A poem “There’s a beautiful angel in heaven today” was read by Julie Brown and the scripture readings was read by Wendy Bransfield and Marjorie McGibbon. The sharing of remembrances was given by Nancy Hughes and David Keenan.
The Highland Society and the U.C.W sat as a group for the service. The pallbearers were Mike Hughes, Nick Hughes, Riley Hughes, Thomas Keenan, Evan Keenan and Luke Keenan. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery later in the spring.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to NB Special Olympics, St. Andrew’s United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
