 Douglas A. Kingston

      1957 – 2019

Douglas Allen Kingston husband of Pamela Kingston of Calgary, AB and formerly of Bay du Vin, NB passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on March 8, 2019 at the age of 61.

Born in Germany on August 15, 1957 he was the son of the late Gerald Benson and Mary (Williston) Kingston.  He retired from the Military as a Sargent in 1997 and served two Peace Keeping Tours. He was a member of the Legion Branch #285 in Calgary, AB.  He was Anglican by faith.

Doug was a dedicated Black Hawks fan, but he enjoyed all sports.  He spent most summers since retirement at his home in Bay du Vin.  He always loved being a part of the fishing and hunting scene.  He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Shiloh.  He will be sadly missed by his son Shane, wife Pam and all his family in Calgary and Bay du Vin.  Shane’s final words to his Dad, “I will love and miss you forever Dad”

He is survived by his wife Pamela (Nahwegezhic) Kingston; one son: Shane; one granddaughter: Shiloh and mother-in-law Ruby all of Calgary; two sisters: Wendy Kingston of Bay du Vin and Kathy Durelle (Gilles) of Miramichi Bay; three brothers: Gerry Kingston (Heather) of Wainwright, AB, Ricky Kingston (Lesley) of Bay du Vin and Roddy Kingston (Verna) of Miramichi; one aunt: Carol Brand of Bay du Vin; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  A Legion Service was also held on Sunday evening.  Funeral service was held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2 pm from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin with The Reverend Thomas Nisbett and Rev. Deacon Rose Steeves officiating.  Music for the service was provided by Dawn Bell and the hymns were “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me” and “He Leadeth Me”.  Special music “Go Rest High on That Mountain” was sung by Buff Durrelle.  The scripture readings were read by Cindy Kingston and Tanya McCormack and a message from granddaughter Shiloh Kingston was read by her dad Shane.

Honorary pallbearers were Alan Kingston, Alyre Manuel, Windsor Kingston, Kevin Fraser, Ryan Nahwegezhic, Gary Williston, Harold Fraser, Peter Kingston and Shelley Nahwegezhic.  Active pallbearers were Matthew Kingston, Clifford Kingston, Trevor Brand, Randy Johnston, Michael Fraser and Grayson Matheson.  Interment will be held in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery later in the spring.

As expression of sympathy, donations to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
