Eileen A. MacDonald
1938 – 2019
Eileen Ann MacDonald, wife of the late Edward F. MacDonald of Miramichi, passed away at Mirview Dr., Miramichi on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2019 at the age of 81.
Born in Redmondville, NB, on June 20, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John Archibald and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Cook. She worked in retail most of her life working at different jobs. She was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica and enjoyed being a part of the C.W.L and Hospice Miramichi. She loved Bowling, Bingo and Tai Chi exercising.
She is survived by two daughters: Kathy MacDonald of Oshawa, ON and Darlene MacDonald of Ottawa, ON; three sons: Keith MacDonald (Janet) of Oshawa, ON, Ken MacDonald (Michael) and Tim MacDonald (Cathy) all of Miramichi; eight grandchildren: Lindsay, Alex, Heather, Andrew, David, Jade, Erika and Morgan; two great grandchildren: Cadence and Cormack; three sisters: Louise Cook, Lorraine Gray (Rheal) and Aggie Fosheim all of Miramichi; three brothers: Paul Cook (Myrna) of St. Margaret’s, Hughie Cook (Shirley) of Hamilton, ON and Brian Cook (Colleen) of Glenwood; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Edward F. MacDonald, five sisters: Marie, Beryl, Pat, Marjorie and Jeannie, one brother, Wendall.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11 am with Father John Fraser as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael’s Choir and the hymns were “Amazing Grace”, “Gentle Woman”, “In My Father’s House”, “Songs of the Angels” and the recessional hymn was “Here I Am Lord”. The scripture readings were read by Lorraine Gray and Sheila Fitzpatrick. The eulogies was presented by Keith MacDonald and Connie Doucet.
Honorary pallbearers were Sheila & Bob Fitzpatrick, Jean & Doug MacDonald and Esther & Hud Woodland. Pallbearers were Todd Fosheim, Ricky Jenkins, Orry Cook, Yuni Velazquez, Troy Cook and Lucas MacKenzie. A large number of C.W.L sat as a body and formed a guard of honor for Eileen. Interment will be held in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
