Elaine E. Hastey
1940 – 2019
Elaine Eleanor Hastey of Miramichi and formerly of Douglasfield passed away at the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the age of 79.
Born in Chatham, on May 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jean (MacFarlane) Trevors. She is a retired employee of H.R.D.C after 30 years. She attended St. Paul’s Anglican Church and was a part of the A.C.W, Sunday School and Outreach Committee.
She is survived by her two daughters: Shelly Malley (Edward) and Donna Tozer (Teddy) all of Miramichi; two sons: Allen Hastey (Debra) and Chris Hastey (Sandra) all of Miramichi; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Peterson of Saskatchewan. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Douglas Hastey, one son, Jason Hastey, one brother, Terry Trevors.
Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral was held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2 pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church with Rev. Deacon Eddie Quann officiating, assisted by Holly Gallant. Music for the service was provided by organist Janet Stothart and St. Paul's Church Choir. The hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid" and "Here I Am Lord". The recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art". Scripture readings were offered by Jordan Hastey and Holly Gallant and the eulogy was presented by Crystal Hughes. Prayers of the People were led by Jordan Hastey.
Pallbearers were Paul Hachey, Joey Woods, Bradley Howe, Raymond Ellis, Jason Hastey and Mackenzie Tozer. Interment was in the church cemetery.
