Frederick L. Loggie
1935 – 2019
Family and friends of Frederick (Fred) Lorne Loggie of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home are saddened to announce his sudden passing at his late residence on Saturday evening, November 9, 2019 at the age of 84.
Born in Newcastle, on November 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Audrey L. and Ruth M. (Orr) Loggie. He has lived his whole life in the Miramichi area. Fred was employed at a number of Miramichi Automobile dealerships in his earlier working career and then spent several fulfilling years as the Miramichi District Planning Commissioner based in Chatham.
Fred was well known in Maritime horse racing circles and he was owner and co-owner of several winning horses spanning several years in the sport.
The family would like to say thank-you to the many people at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home who treated Fred like family.
He is survived by his sisters: Marion (Vic) Yahnke of Nova Scotia and Evelyn (late Philip) Shields of Ontario; nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
As per Fred’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service held. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Knox United Church, Pine Grove Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
