George Royce Clark

     1945 – 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Royce Clark of Nelson Miramichi, NB announce his passing at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the age of 73.

Royce was born in Newcastle, NB on July 3, 1945, son of the late Agnes (Maude) and George Clark of Chelmsford.  He was employed for 43 ½ years with the Public Works department of the former town of Newcastle and the City of Miramichi.  Over the years he enjoyed four-wheeling, boating, travelling and tinkering away in his garage.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Elizabeth (George); sons: Jerry (Angela) of McNamee, George of Toronto, Andrew (Reesa) of Drumheller, AB, Jeffrey (Diane) of Saskatoon, SK and Michael (Ashley) of LaRonge, SK; grandchildren: Braden (Emma), Anna, Logan, Maria and Kenley; sister, Rose (Bob) Jeppesen of New Denmark, NB; brothers: Thomas (Irene) of Chelmsford, NB and Clinton (Eva) of Mississauga, Ont.; sister-in-law, Margaret Ann (Max) Swanson of Harvey, NB; brother-in-law, Jack Hotham of Moncton, NB; longtime friend Gerald LeBlanc of Miramichi; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his constant companion Minoue.  He was predeceased by his sister Darlene Hotham, niece, Andrea Hotham, mother and father-in-law, Betty and Arthur George of Sackville.

Visitation was held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral service was held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Darel Tozer officiating.  Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Shirley Estey.  The hymn was “How Great Thou Art” and the recessional hymn was “Amazing Grace”.

Pallbearers were Claude Chapman, Ian O’Donnel, Jordy Jeppesen, Jens Jeppesen, Jamie Doyle and Dale MacMillian.  Interment was held in the MacKinleyville Cemetery, MacKinleyville, NB.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Miramichi Ground Search and Rescue or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
