Jessie A. Howard

   1931 – 2019

Jessie Agnes Howard, wife of the late Mark S. Howard Sr. of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 87.

Born in Craigville, NB, on May 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Murphy.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion and attended St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Miramichi.

Jessie is survived by her daughter: Debra Howard of Scarborough, ON; sons: Mark Howard (Debra) of Orlando, FL and Larry Howard of Toronto, ON; grandchildren: Amanda Howard of Daytona, FL and Nicholas Howard of Toronto, ON; brothers: Robert Murphy (Margaret) and Randall Murphy all of Miramichi.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband: Mark S. Howard Sr., sisters: Romana Matthews, Alta Greenough and Betty Forest.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Miramichi on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11am with Rev. Perry Cooper officiating, assisted by Rev. Deacon Eddie Quann and Rev. Deacon Ted Quann.  The music for the service was provided by Mrs. Charlotte Loggie and St. Mary’s Church Choir.  The hymns were “O Jesus, I Have Promised”, “Amazing Grace” and the recessional hymn was “Blessed Assurance”. 

Pallbearers were Nicholas Howard, Jonathan Fraser, David Fraser and Gordon Jenkins.  Interment will be held in St. James United Church Cemetery later in the spring.
