Kenneth L. Sturgeon
1946 – 2019
It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Kenneth Leroy Sturgeon of Gray Rapids, NB announce his passing on Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home, at the age of 73 years.
Born in White Rapids, NB, on March 26th, 1946, he was the oldest son of Reta Sturgeon and the late Kenneth Sturgeon Sr. of White Rapids.
Kenneth is survived by his wife: Lois (Underhill) Sturgeon; two beautiful children: Trent of Gray Rapids and Andrea (Darren Underhill) of Fredericton; four special grandchildren: Emma Sturgeon, Breanna, Max and Lexie Underhill; his mother: Reta Sturgeon of White Rapids; his brothers: Irving Sturgeon (Joan) of Miramichi and Bentley Sturgeon (Twila) of Gray Rapids; his mother-in-law: Jennie Underhill; brother-in-law: Winsor Underhill (Marlene) of Blackville; three sisters-in-law: Nelda Sturgeon (late Dana) of Gray Rapids, Twila Shaw (Donald) of Napan and Velma Ward (William) of Red Bank; several nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth Sr., his brother Fearon Sturgeon of White Rapids and his sister Sheena Sturgeon of Rexton, NB.
Kenneth’s visitation was held at the Gray Rapids United Pentecostal Church on Tuesday from 6-9pm and Wednesday from 11am – 2pm. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Graham Russell officiating. The music for the service was provided Janice Sullivan and Arlene Locke. The songs were “A Picture of Me Without You” and “Amazing Grace” sung by Bernard & Marilyn Young and “I Won’t Have to Worry” sung by Twila Shaw. The eulogy was presented by Harvey Sherrard.
The honorary pallbearers were Wesley Curtis, Harvey Sherrard, Leroy Coughlan, Trueman Underhill, Kim Sturgeon, George Sherrard, Mike Theriault and Raymond Duffy. The pallbearers were Jansen Sturgeon, William Ward, Allan Sturgeon, Terry Sturgeon, Josh Sherrard and Fearonie Sturgeon. Interment was in the church cemetery.
