Madelaine J. Gallinger
1948 – 2019
Madelaine Juliette Mary Gallinger of Miramichi passed away at the St. John Regional Hospital on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at the age of 71.
Born in Ottawa, ON, on September 22, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Anita (Labrecque) Gallinger. She worked for the city of Toronto in the Health Dept. for many years. She attended St. Mary’s Anglican Church and was involved with the community kitchen and A.C.W.
She is survived by her common-law partner Vince Fisher; one daughter, Deborah Gazzola of Brampton, ON; one son, William Patterson of Miramichi; seven grandchildren: Angelo, Krissy, Jessica, Billie-Jo, Cheryl, Steven and Daniel; seven great grandchildren: Emma, Milo, Marci, Owen, Harley, Jade and Isabel; five sisters: Joanne of ON, Diane of Nfld., Helen of ON, Mary of AB and Penny of ON; one half-brother, Wayne of AB. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters: Debbie and Gail.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Saturday from 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Perry Cooper officiating, assisted by Rev. Deacon Eddie Quann, Rev. Deacon Ted Quann and Lay Reader Karen Furlotte. The music for the service was provided by organist Karen Kaiser and St. Mary’s Choir and the hymns were “In The Garden”, “Amazing Grace” and the recessional hymn was “Because He Lives”. The scripture was read by Lay Reader Karen Fulotte, Bill Skerry and Rev. Deacon Ted Quann.
Pallbearers were Bob Comeau, Sandy Mills, Brian McLean, Gerry Kirk, Phil Holland and Bill Skerry. Interment will be held in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation of a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
