Marjorie J. Shubert

   1941 – 2018

Marjorie Jane Shubert, wife of Wayne Shubert of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the age of 77.

Born in Chatham on June 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Cook.  She worked at Northern Telecom for many years and then worked 25 years for Stanfields Ltd.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.  She loved to volunteer with Canadian Cancer Society and the Boys & Girls Club.  She had a great love for children especially her own children, grandchildren and great grandchild.  She touched the lives of all the people around her.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Shubert; two daughters: Tammy Ricci of Pugwash, NS and Monique Shubert (Greg) of Truro, NS; five grandchildren: Melissa, Ryan, Raelene, Jada and Gregory and one great grandchild Blayze; four sisters: Eileen MacDonald, Louise Cook, Lorraine Gray (Rheal) and Agnes Fosheim all of Miramichi; three brothers: Paul Cook (Myrna) of St. Margarets, Brian Cook (Colleen) of Glenwood and Hugh Cook (Shirley) of Hamilton, ON.; one sister-in-law Brenda Cook of Miramichi, many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, four sisters: Marie Murray, Beryl MacDonald, Patricia Jenkins and Jean Stroeder; one brother: Wendell Cook.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial was held from St. Michael’s Basilica on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 am with Father John Fraser as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael’s Choir and the hymns were “Here I Am Lord”, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”, “I Will Never Forget You”, “Songs Of The Angels” and the recessional hymn was “On Eagle’s Wings”.  A special song “Ava Maria” was sung by Paul Gregoire.  The scripture readings were done by Sheila Fitzpatrick and Betty Blanchard and the prayers of intercession were done by Betty Blanchard.  The eulogy was given by Ryan Wilson.

The pallbearers were Ryan Wilson, Stephen Gray, Troy Cook, Ory Cook, Derrick Cook and Norman Sawler. Interment will be held in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Oxford, NS.
