Robert Garth Smith Williston, of Bay du Vin, born April 29th, 1940 passed away at the South Terrace Nursing Home in Edmonton, Alberta August 21st, 2019.
Garth was the only son of the late Robert Alexander Williston and Jenny Sinclair Smith Williston.
He was a lifetime commercial fisherman since boyhood, and survivor of the Escuminac Disaster. By vocation he was both a dedicated fisherman on the Miramichi, and an inspirational school teacher in the Moncton area.
He is survived by his first wife Susan Marsh of Montreal and their daughter Amber Dawn Williston, and by his second wife Susan Renton of Moncton and her daughter Jamie Renton.
His body was donated to the Anatomical Gifts Program at the University of Alberta.
Garth’s spirit and memory will always live strong in the land and shores of Bay du Vin, the home he so dearly loved.
We love you, we miss you, and we wish you smooth sailing towards your final resting place.
All are encouraged and welcome to his memorial service and potluck reception in Bay du Vin at St John The Evangelist Anglican Church on Saturday October 5th at 4pm.
