Susan R. Dickson
1926-2018
Susan Rita Dickson, widow of the late Norman Dickson, of Miramichi Senior Citizen’s Home and formerly of Princess St. passed away at her residence on October 7, 2018 at the age of 92.
Born in Fairville, NB on March 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and E. May (Dickson) Bosence. She was a homemaker; a member of St. Andrew’s United Church Miramichi; a member of the UCW; a former Sunday school teacher; a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Higgins (Brian), of Palo Alto, California, and Paula Blair (Jeffery) of Kingston, ON; one son, Tony Dickson (Shelly) of Miramichi; six grandchildren, Amanda (Danny), Christopher (Becca), Kate (Anthony), Alexander (Shandy), Sarah, Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Lauren, Lydia, Desirae. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, one infant son, Paul Angus; one brother, Reginald D. Bosence.; one sister, Harriett Pynn.
Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St. Miramichi, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service was held from St. Andrew’s United Church, on Saturday October 13, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Music for the service was provided by Mr. Ken Simpson and St. Andrew’s United Church Choir. The hymns were “Abide With Me”, “Here I Am, Lord” “God Be with You till We Meet Again”. The Memory Candle Lighting was done by grandchildren Amanda Melvin and Christopher Dickson. A poem “L’Envoi, by Rudyard Kipling was read by great granddaughter Alexis Melvin. Scripture readings were read by Abby (Godfrey) Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers were Members of Princess Street Unit, UCW and the Jardine Family. Pallbearers were Heather and Eric Godfrey, Kim and Vince Thibodeau, Rhoda and Donald Conroy. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s UCW or Pine Grove Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd. 140 King St. Miramichi, NB., or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adams.fh.ca
