Norma V. Williston
1947-2014
Miramichi - Norma Violet Williston, wife of Frank Williston of Wellington St., Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the age of 67.
Born in Black River Bridge, on June 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late J. Everard and Bertie (MacKnight) MacLean. She was a homemaker and Secretary for Williston Development Ltd.; a member of Knox United Church; a member of the U.C.W.; a United Church Lay Minister; a member of Presbytery.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Jacqueline Williston, of Campbell River, B.C.; one son, Colin Williston (Sara), of Miramichi; one sister, Faye Behnsen (Gerry), of Campbell River, B.C.; one brother, Roy MacLean (Mary Laura), of Miramichi; one brother in law, Bud Walsh, of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Kristi, Alex, Tristen, Braydon; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Barbara Walsh.
Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Monday and Tuesday. Funeral service was held from Knox United Church, Miramichi, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Jim Postlethwaite. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Janet Stothart and the church choir. The hymn was “All The Way My Savior Leads Me”. A solo was offered by Al Fraser, “Where The Roses Never Fade” and the choir anthem was “Ask Me What Great Thing I know”. The scriptures were read by Alex Williston and Kristi Williston and the eulogy was presented by Colin Williston.
The honorary pallbearers were members of the Knox United Church U.C.W. Active pallbearers were Archie Fowlie, Robert Fowlie, Al Fraser, Neil Watling, Alex Williston, Kristi Williston. Interment was in the Black River Community Cemetery.
