Vincent G. MacDonald


Glenwood, N.B. – Vincent Gordon MacDonald, husband of Emma MacDonald, of MacDonald Road, Glenwood, N.B., passed away at his residence on Saturday evening, August 5, 2017, at the age of 75.

Born in Glenwood, on January 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Archibald and Ida (MacDonald) MacDonald.  He was a retired construction foreman with North Shore Construction Ltd. and an adherent of St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge.

He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Duplessis; one daughter, Lisa M. MacDonald (Allen), of Glenwood; one son, Darrin MacDonald (Dawn), of Glenwood; one brother, Blaine MacDonald (Glenda), of Napan; seven grandchildren, Cody, Emily, Hayley, Vanessa, Chelsey, Evan, James; nine great grandchildren, Cameron, Xander, Chloe, Carly, Jaxson, Thomas, Isabella, Emerson, Sophia.  He was predeceased by four sisters, Ada Taylor, Vera Watling, Eileen MacDonald, Joan MacDonald; four brothers, Byron, Marven, Norman, Stan MacDonald.

Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Tuesday.  Funeral service was held from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight with the memory candle being lit by Vanessa Regan.  Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Barbara Somers and the joint pastoral choir.  The hymns were “In The Garden”, and the recessional hymn was “God Be With You Till We Meet Again”.  A duet was offered by Dawn MacDonald and Chelsey MacDonald, “Amazing Grace.  The scriptures were read by Hayley and Lisa MacDonald and the family memories were offered by Dawn MacDonald. 

The honorary pallbearers were Dale & Mary Cameron, Lloyd & Simonne Wormell, Billy & Lucy Duplessis, David & Louise Mersereau, Emile & Carol Duplessis, Theresa Harris & Donna Taylor.  Active pallbearers were Cody MacDonald, James Beaulieu, Harold Christie, Evan MacDonald, Stephen MacDonald, Corey Regan.  Interment was in the Black River Community Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Nursing Program, the N.B.
