Arlene E. Sherrard

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Arlene E Sherrard announce her passing on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born on June 5, 1946, she was the only daughter of the late Claude & Helena (McMahon) Mills of Douglastown, NB.
Arlene was a member of the U.C.W and a member of St Marks United Church choir. She favoured traditional country music, enjoyed playing the piano and she loved the outdoors. She also made the best bread and was never happier than when she was feeding her family.
She leaves behind her husband of 34 years Wesley Sherrard, her children, Daryl MacTavish of Hamilton, ON, Hugh MacTavish (Ann) of Lyttleton, Richard MacTavish of Moncton, Stephen MacTavish (Shirley) of Lantz, NS and Wanda MacTavish of Riverview. Also mourning her loss are her five grandchildren Amber, Alyssa, Evan, Brendan and Parker.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Daniel Keoughan and James Gautreau, as well as an infant daughter Joan MacTavish.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation.  A private graveside service to honour Arlene’s life was held at Black River Community Cemetery on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Ross Wiseman and assisted by Rev. Darryl Tozer.  Organ prelude was by Joanne Wiseman.  Rev. Wiseman welcomed all in attendance and Rev. Tozer read the Prayer of Approach.  Rev. Ross and Joanne Wiseman lead those in attendance with singing Amazing Grace, and the scripture lesson from Psalm 23 and devotional message was offered by Rev. Tozer.  Following the committal, the service was concluded with the hymn Shall We Gather At The River.
