Byron H. Williston

    1924-2018

Byron Hesketh Williston, husband of the late Amanda Daigle, of South Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the age of 94, following a brief illness.

Born in Bay du Vin, on January 20, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Hilda (Williston) Williston.  He was an auto mechanic by occupation and was Christian by Faith.

He is survived by three daughters, Heather Tydal (Ted), of High River, AB, Darlene Lonseth (Dale) and Brenda Cosson (Lorne), all of Rocanville, Sask.; seven sons, Ron Williston and Vern Williston (Jacqueline), all of Calgary, AB, Bruce Williston (Stephanie), Perry Williston (Sherry), Dale Daigle (Deana) and Darrin Daigle (Tammy), all of Miramichi, Stacy Williston (Brenda), of Niagara Falls, Ont.; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Weston Williston (Sandra), of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Amanda in December 2017; his parents; one son, James Williston; three brothers, Blair, Aubrey and Ivan Williston; one sister, Ruby Price.

Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday, March 4.  Funeral service was held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 11am, conducted by Wayne Hutchison and Wayne van den Dries.  Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Vera Lynn Harrison and the hymns were “In Jesus Hands” and “Jesus Is Still the Same”.

Pallbearers were Dale and Darrin Daigle, Stacy and Perry Williston, Steven and Peter MacDonald.  Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring.

Sorry to hear of Bryon's passing,,, I have many fond memories of this wonderful man. ... he'd come to my home, pick up my car, repair/service it,, and it would be back in the driveway for me come morning..... then,, I'd have to chase him down to pay him,,,, a great person, who will be missed!!
