Alice M. (Breau) Fleiger
1924 – 2020
It is with sadness in our hearts and tears in our eyes that we notify you of the passing of Alice Marie (Breau) Fleiger, wife of the late Colin Fleiger.
Alice was a small but mighty woman with great strength, determination and faith – strongly believing in the power of prayer. In her younger years she was involved with the recreation association, CWL and politics. She also enjoyed bowling, curling and camping. She leaves behind many wonderful memories to treasure. We will miss her.
She will be deeply missed by her children: David, Billy (Debbie), Gerald, Pat (Viola) of Miramichi and Colleen (Tim) Stewart of Elmsville. Also to mourn for her are her many grandchildren and great grandchildren on both coasts of our country and her sister Rita Touzin of Levis, Quebec and brother-in-law Harold (Carol), sister-in-law Rose and by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend Colin, parents William and Arthemise (Drisdelle) Breau, and infant brother and three infant sisters, sister Celina MacNeil and daughter-in-law Geraldine.
In regards to the Coronavirus Outbreak, Alice’s family held a private visitation. A private Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11 am with Father John Keoughan as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by David Bunnell and St. Michael’s Choir and the hymns were “Come To Me”, “Hail Mary/Gentle Woman”, “Take and Eat”, “Songs of the Angels” and the recessional hymn was “Into Your Hands”. The scripture readings were read by Jennifer Fleiger Collins and also the Intercessory Prayers were led by Jennifer Fleiger Collins. A reflection on Alice’s life was presented by Colleen Stewart.
Pallbearers were Shaun Fleiger, Robbie Fleiger, Ryan Fleiger, Chris Lewis, Tony Lloyd and Tim Stewart. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society, St. Michael’s Basilica or Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3 would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone (506) 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
