In Loving Memory of Andrea Merilda Fowlie
1952-2023
Andrea Merilda Fowlie of Barrie, ON, and formerly of Black River Bridge, NB, passed away on July 13th, 2023, at the age of 71, with family by her side.
Born in Chatham, NB, on June 25th 1952, she was the daughter of the late Albain and the late Carmella (Martin) Turbide. Andrea (Merilda) was employed with the federal government RCMP Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) for almost 20 years. She was a wonderful cook-THE BEST! She baked the best apple pies, and much enjoyed cooking for others. This was one of many ways she demonstrated her kindness.
Andrea (Merilda) is survived by her two sons: Chris Preston and Shawn Preston. She was step-mother to Brad (Kim) Fowlie, Chris (Julie) Fowlie, and Michelle (Trevor) Fowlie. She is also survived by granddaughters: Paige Blakely, Jaime Preston; step-grandchildren: Jordan, Nick, Josh and Rachel; sisters: Virgine (Paul) Durelle, Lucia (Francis) Mccllough, Jolaine (Kevin) Fowlie, and Paulette (John) Turbide; brothers: Antonio (Shirley) Turbide and André (Janice) Turbide; and brother-in-law, Mervin Trevors.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert Fowlie; and sister, Velma Trevors.
Visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, on Friday, August 4th, 2023, from 6-9 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023, from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, NB, at 1 PM, with The Reverend David Allan as Officiant. Music for the service was provided by David Mann and Cory Fowlie. The songs included: "Jealous of the Angels", "Never Alone", and "Dancing in the Sky". Memorial Candles were lit by Virgine Durelle, Lucia McCullough, Jolaine Fowlie, and Paulette Turbide. The Eulogy was delivered by Jason Robichaud. The Scripture Readers were Brittany McIntyre and Christine Turbide. Interment followed in the Black River Community Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
