Anna G. MacDonald
1936 – 2019
Anna Gertrude MacDonald, wife of Elmer MacDonald of Napan passed away at Losier Hall, Miramichi on December 1, 2019 at the age of 83.
Born in Napan, NB on June 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Irma (Turbide) MacKnight. She was a homemaker and Roman Catholic by faith.
Anna is survived by her husband Elmer MacDonald; three daughters: Wendy Pilmer of Saint John, Keitha Gallant (Marc) of Rexton and Irma MacDonald (George) of Miramichi; two sons: Wayne MacDonald (Tammy) of Napan and Ted MacDonald (Melanie) of Saint John; one daughter-in-law, Jackie MacDonald of St. Andrews; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister Phyllis Johnson (Ted) of ON; one sister-in-law Sandra MacKnight of Napan; two brothers Raymond MacKnight (Beryl) of Napan and Joseph MacKnight (Joyce) of Burnt Church; one brother-in-law Les Halman. She was predeceased by her parents, one son, David MacDonald, two sisters: Marie Crawford and Winnifred Halman, one brother, Leonard MacKnight and one son-in-law, Wilfred Pilmer.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11 am from St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, (Loggieville) with Father Paul Doucet and Father Leon Creamer as Celebrants. Music for the service was provided by Norma Sugden and St. Andrew’s Choir and the hymns were “Rest In God Alone”, “Holy, Mary”, “Gentle Woman” and “Lamb of God”. Special music “I Believe” by George Comeau, “On Eagles Wings” by Noah MacDonald, “Here I Am, Lord” by Patrick MacDonald and St. Andrew’s Choir and the recessional hymn was “The River” by Patrick MacDonald and George Comeau. The scripture was read by Adam Pilmer and Melanie MacDonald. The Prayers of the Faithful was lead by Father Leon Creamer.
Honorary pallbearers were Mona Murdock, Mary Jane Kingston, Angela Jardine, Valerie Brennan, Lylla Adams, Margaret McLaughlin, Sandra MacKnight, Joyce MacKnight, Beryl MacKnight and Doreen Somers. Interment will be held in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
