Barbara “Barb” Dawn McClenaghan was a strong, compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. We are so very sad to announce her passing on October 19, 2021, at the George Dumont Hospital in Moncton.
Barb has been fortunate to be surrounded by so many people that loved her and that she loved. To her, the most important and cherished things in her life were family and friends.
Barb called the Miramichi home since the 1970’s. At first she was not a fan but she grew to love it and could never see herself living anywhere else; loving the beauty and the bonds she made over the years. Barb had a long and fulfilling career and retired from her role as HR Director at Northumberland Co-op in 2015. She loved what she did and the people she worked with; she worked hard but played harder. Barb loved dancing with her late husband, travelling with her family, wine nights with close friends and of course, finding deals at auctions. She had a love of the Toronto Blue Jays and football. No one would be louder in a crowd or her own living room cheering on her teams. That spark, spunk and energy will be missed by all.
Barb is survived by her two sons: Richard (Lorna) McClenaghan, and Robert McClenaghan; and her daughter, Tina Thomas; four grandchildren: Stefan and Jacob McClenaghan, Olivia and Zacc Thomas; her sister, Bev (Blair) Gordon; and two nieces, Tiffany and Trisha. Barb is predeceased by her husband, Delmer “Tex”.
We would like to thank Dr. Losier and the nurses at the Miramichi hospital for all their support and kindness, the specialists from Moncton and Bathurst and her close friends that have been by Barb’s side.
A visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 12-2 PM, and a celebration of Barb’s life followed at 2 PM from Adams Funeral Home Chapel.
