Barrie Fisher Obituary

In Loving Memory of Barrie Fisher, P. Eng., C. Eng., M.I. Mech. E.

Consulting Engineer (Aerospace)

1932 – 2026

Family and friends of Barrie Fisher are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Bridgeview Hall.  Barrie left us to join the love of his life, the late Jennie Fisher (Seguin).

Barrie was born in Birmingham, England, UK, on July 16th, 1932, the only child of the late Percy and Doris Fisher.

Barrie was known as a proper English Gentleman; his British accent was very prominent.  Barrie was also a great conversationalist, spoke to everyone about everything, and proudly wore his deerstalker hat, or as some call it, the Sherlock Holmes hat.

Barrie graduated from the University of Birmingham in UK with top honours as a Mechanical Engineer.  In further studies, he acquired his Professional Engineer degree and Engineer Designer credentials.  He was assigned a position as Consulting Engineer with Aerospace.

Barrie and Jennie retired and relocated to Retirement Miramichi from Montreal, Quebec.  Upon his arrival, he was offered a part time job with Dew Enterprises and finally retired at the age of 88.

Barrie is survived by Jennie’s niece, Cynthia Leaver of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Barrie had a love for people; it was evident as his warmth, humour, and friendships, which left a lasting imprint on those who were fortunate to have known him.

Barrie was so comfortable, content, and happy with his stay at Bridgeview Hall.  He loved the Staff, and they loved him.  He considered the Staff as part of his family.

A heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Kris Wierzchoslawki and Staff for your care, dedication, and friendship in Barrie’s time at Bridgeview Hall.  Thank You to Dr. Barua and Nicole for their many, many years of wonderful care with compassion to both Barrie and Jennie; you both went beyond the call of duty.  Also, Thank You to loyal friends Mike and Jill for the many visits and concern for both Barrie and Jennie over the years; they really cherished your friendship.

As per Barrie’s request, cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, with The Reverend Keith Carter officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Barrie’s memory to Bridgeview Hall Recreation Department would be appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, telephone (506) 773-3492.  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
