In Loving Memory of Benjamin “Benny” John Dickson

1942 – 2023

Benjamin “Benny” John Dickson of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, at the age of 81.

Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on March 11, 1942, Benjamin “Benny” John Dickson was the son of both the late Benjamin John Dickson Sr. and Eileen (Power) Dickson.

“Benny” as he was frequently known as, was a Labourer working as a Woods-Worker most of his adult life.  He had a big heart, was generous and liked to help people when they were in need.  He was very kind-hearted and well-liked by all who knew him.  His nieces and nephews thought the world of Benny and that love was reciprocated by Benny. Benny was also a lover of animals.

Benjamin “Benny” John Dickson is survived by his five sisters: Lillian Ball of Niagara Falls, ON, Clara Collette of Miramichi, Violet Matthews of Miramichi, Jean Carroll of Miramichi, and Geraldine Arbeau (Campbell) of Saint John, NB; and brother, John Dickson (Wendy) of Miramichi. Benny is also survived by his close friend, Mildred of Miramichi, and several special nieces and nephews.  

Besides his parents, Benny is predeceased by his brothers: Robert Dickson, and William “Billy” Dickson.

A Celebration of Benjamin “Benny” John Dickson’s Life will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 2-4 PM only.  A reception will take place during this time at the funeral home. Interment will occur at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

As Benny had a fondness for animals, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
