Blake S. Cameron
1960 – 2022
Blake Smith Cameron of Bay du Vin, passed away following a brief illness at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on September 4, 2022, at the age of 61.
Born in Newcastle, NB, on September 27, 1960, he was the son of Frances Cameron and the late Hiram (Hum) Cameron. He worked at Berger Peat Moss and attended St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. He was part of the Bay du Vin Recreation Council.
Besides his mother, Frances (Smith) Cameron of Bay du Vin, Blake is survived by his sister, Heather Cormier (Yvon) of Moncton; brothers: Bradford Cameron (Carolyn) of Bay du Vin, and Glen Cameron (Joey Lynn Graham) of Miramichi; three nieces: Sarah Eisan (Matthew), Bailey Cameron (Andrew Davison), and Cassidy Cameron; one nephew, Drew Cameron; as well as many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Hiram (Hum) Cameron.
At Blake's request, there was no visitation. A public funeral service occurred at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin on Friday, September 9, 2022, 1 PM with The Reverend Thomas W.L. Nisbett, The Reverend Canon Richard McConnell as Officiants, and Mrs. Cindy Kingston as Lay Reader. Music for the service was provided by Organist, Dawn Bell and included congregational hymns. The hymns were: "Ode to Joy", "Amazing Grace", "How Sweet the Hour of Closing Day", and "Jerusalem the Golden". The Scripture Readers were: Cindy Kingston, Grant Smith, and Paul Dolan. The Honorary Pallbearers were: Drew Cameron, Paul Dolan, Gerry Green, Kevin McCormack, Jay McCormack, and Grant Smith. The interment occurred in the church cemetery following the service, and a reception in the church basement followed.
