Blanche C. MacDougall
1933 – 2023
Blanche Cameron MacDougall, wife of the late Burville MacDougall of Black River Bridge, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on February 20, 2023, at the age of 89.
Born in Bay du Vin, on September 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Burt and Charlotte “Lottie” (Williston) Mills. Blanche was a Store Clerk at MacDiarmid's Store, McLenaghan's Store, and later at Zellers Store. In her younger years, she attended St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Bay du Vin and after marriage to Burville, she attended St. Stephen’s United Church in Black River Bridge. She was a member of the U.C.W.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Guimond (Ulysse) of Escuminac; her son, Brian MacDougall (Connie) of Miramichi; five grandchildren: Randy (Patricia), Marsha (Marcel), Cory, Christopher, and Diana; eleven great-grandchildren: Rae-Anne, Justin, Bradley, Jacob, Shane, Noah, Mason, Makayla, Megan, Mya, and Matthew; seven great-great-grandchildren: Charlee, Frankee, Kallie, Ava, Jace, Maya and Casey; two brothers: Lloyd Mills and Jasper Mills (Jackie) of Miramichi; as well as sisters-in-law: Betty MacDougall, and Mary MacDougall. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Burville; son-in-law, Phil; sister, Marjorie; brothers: Bliss and Sandy; and sister-in-law, Velna.
Visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service occurred at St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, NB, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11 AM with The Reverend David Allan as Officiant. Music leadership was provided by David Bonnell and Patricia Guimond. The hymns included the processional "Here I Am, Lord", and "Gentle Mother", with the recessional being "How Great Though Art". Lighters of the Memorial Candle were granddaughter, Diana Moran and great-granddaughter, Makayla Moran. The Eulogy was prepared and presented by grandson, Cory Guimond. The Scripture Readers were granddaughter, Marsha Manuel, and great-granddaughter, Megan Moran. The Active Pallbearers consisted of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Bradley Guimond, Cory Guimond, Justin Guimond, Mason Guimond, Randy Guimond, Chris MacDougall, Jacob Manuel, Noah Manuel, and Matthew Moran. The Honorary Pallbearers were: Ida Adams, Beth Guimond, Carolyn Harper, Betty MacDougall, Lee Walsh, and Anna Watling. Interment will be in Black River Community Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Black River Community Cemetery, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
