Brian T. Jones
May 10, 1953 – April 27, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, and friend, Brian Thomas Jones of Miramichi.
Brian lost his courageous seven year battle with cancer on April 27th, at the age of 67.
He was born to Ivan and Joan (Joanne) Jones on May 10, 1953. Brian was well known for his business ventures. He began and ran Brown’s Take Out for many years, as well as D&J Plant Shop. Brian also ran Labus Blanchard's Take Out in Aldouane, and Pirates Kitchen in Richibucto. He was a good friend and brother, and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear to everyone he met. Brian loved animals and birds and spent many hours observing nature.
Brian is survived by his mother, Joan (Joanne) of Miramichi; brothers: Brad (Heather) of Riverview, Gary of Faro, Yukon, Wayne (David) of Dorchester, and Greg (Brendah) of Miramichi; sisters: Diane (Amos) of Miramichi, and Darlene (Brian) of St. Margarets; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his special friend, Eric Blanchard of St. Ignace. He was predeceased by his father; and sister, Maureen.
A special thank you to Dr. Lise Langis of Bouctouche, NB, Dr. Finn of George Dumont Hospital oncology unit, and to all the nurses of the ICU and Palliative Care units who tended to Brian during his numerous hospitalizations. An extra special thank you to Eric for all the time and care you gave to Brian during his battle.
As per Brian’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
