In Loving Memory of Brian Marven MacDonald 

1955 - 2024 

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brian MacDonald, husband of Marion MacDonald, of Napan, New Brunswick, who passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, New Brunswick, on December 23, 2024, at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on October 27, 1955, he was the son of the late Marven and Ann (Brown) MacDonald.

Brian was a dedicated employee of North Shore Construction for 49 years.  His fellow co-workers loved him just as much as he loved them.  Brian touched many souls and became a friend to all.

Brian had a great passion for fishing, hunting, and ATVing.  Anyone who knew Brian described him as passive, caring, loving, unselfish, hardworking, and strong-willed.  To sum it up he was a “Gentle Giant” or “Teddy Bear” who will be greatly missed by all.

Brian will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Marion (Trevors) MacDonald; children: Billy, Andrea (Ryan), Lacy (Shawn), Shauna, and Adam; grandchildren: Jaden, Gabriel, Leia, Avery, Seth, Jackson, and Reid; siblings: Donna (Buddy), Calvin (Odette), and Roma; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, mother-in-law, Mary C. Trevors, and grandchild, Kobe V. Stewart.

A special thank you to Helen & Tony MacDonald, and Ed & Lori Trevors for opening up your home and giving support for the last two and a half years while Brian received care and treatment in Moncton.  Thank you to Roma MacDonald for taking Brian for his Chemo when I couldn’t, and also to Moncton City Oncology and Saint John Oncology Departments.  A very special thanks to Dr. Gerard and Judy Losier, and staff at Percy’s Place who showed much love and compassion to Brian and his family. 

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM.  A funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating.  Music for the service was recorded music, and the songs were: "Here I Am Lord by John Michael Talbot, "Drink A Beer" by Luke Bryan, and the recessional song was "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill.  The scripture readings were read by Sherry Taylor, and a poem was read by Lorie Dick.  The eulogy was presented by Tony MacDonald Sr.

The Honorary Pallbearers were: Less Flett, Chris W. MacDonald, J.P. Girouard, Leonard MacDonald (Tap Tap), Leonard MacDonald (Lunch Can), Tony MacDonald Sr., Edward Trevors, Frank Dick, Richard MacDonald, Bobby Hay, Emile Duplessie, Wayne MacDonald, and Arnold Trevors.  The Active Pallbearers were: Bruce Wallace, Ricky MacDonald, Chris W.B. MacDonald, Geff Baisley, Mike MacKenzie, and Joey Traer.  Interment will be in Black River Community Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Brian to Percy’s Place would be appreciated by the family.
