1982 – 2025

Captain Christopher "Chris" Gerald Williston of Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, passed away at home on May 12, 2025, at the age of 43.

Born in Miramichi, New Brunswick, on April 17, 1982, he was the son of Gerald and Sandy (MacDonald) Williston.  Captain Chris was a Lobster Fisherman since 2007.  In his spare time, he was a jack of all trades and very quick to help someone in need.  He was a member of the Cursillo Movement.

Chris is survived by his parents, Gerald and Sandy Williston of Bay du Vin, New Brunswick; two brothers, Jeremy Williston (Isabelle) of Edmundston, New Brunswick, and Adam Williston (Felicity) of Exeter, UK; nephew, Alex Williston; and niece, Rosalie Williston.

At Chris’s request, there was no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael’s By-the-Sea Roman Catholic Church, 7321 Route 117, Bayside, New Brunswick, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Soloist/Guitarist, Mireille McIntyre.  The processional hymn was "Be Not Afraid",  followed by "The Lord's My Shepherd", "As I Kneel", "I Believe", "How Great Thou Art", and "Sailing".  The recessional song was "Someday". The scripture readings were read by Judy Losier, and Adam Williston.  Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Judy Losier.  Interment followed in St. Michael’s By-the-Sea Cemetery, Bayside, New Brunswick.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Percy’s Place or Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
