Cheryl Mather Obituary

In Loving Memory of Cheryl Mather
1952 – 2024

With sadness, we announce the passing of Cheryl Mather, who left us on September 8, 2024.

Cheryl worked for many years in the Booking Department at Horizon Health.

She was a caring mother to her two daughters, Melissa (Bjorn) and Amy, and a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Audrey, Estella, and Lennox, who she delighted with wildly inappropriate language during family game nights and loved so fiercely. Cheryl also shared a special bond with her niece, Candace, who was like a daughter to her.

Additionally, Cheryl is survived by sisters: Noella Davidson of North Carolina, Patricia Medford of Langley, BC, Theresa Skilliter of Oromocto, NB, Sandra Landry of Florida; and one brother, Ralph (Joyce) Mazerolle of Texas. Her nieces and nephews and their children held a special place in her heart, and she was so proud of them all. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Susan Mazerolle; sisters: Margaret and Judy; one brother, Wendall; brothers-in-law: Art Landry, William Davidson, Floyd Skilliter and Dave Medford; and her husband, John Mather.

Her friendships were as treasured as family, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. Colleen and Donnie Richard, Jill and Ninian Slorach, Eric Richard, Annette Girouard, Cheryl Martin, Kathy Barry, Lynn Ogilvie, and so many others. She was truly blessed to have you in her life.

Cheryl spent her final days at Percy’s Place Hospice, receiving extraordinary care under Dr. Losier, Jill Hackett, and the entire nursing team. Please consider donating here so that other patients and families can experience this wonderful place in their time of need. In Cheryl’s honor, you can also gather with your friends, share funny stories, and cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 1 – 2:45 PM, followed by a burial at 3 PM from St. Samuel’s Catholic Cemetery with The Reverend Father Cornelius officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Percy’s Place would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB; (506) 773-3492.  Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
