In Loving Memory of Christopher O’Kane

1975 – 2024

Christopher Stephen William O’Kane of Napan, NB, passed away at the Chaleur General Hospital, Bathurst, NB, on January 8, 2024, at the age of 48.

Born in Labrador City, NL, on March 22, 1975, he was the loving son of Marilyn (Trevors) O’Kane and the late Joseph O’Kane.  He attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

Chris is survived by his mother, Marilyn O’Kane of Napan; daughter, Erin O’Kane of Saint John; sons: Stephen and Liam O’Kane both of Saint John; brothers: Rob (Tracy) O’Kane of New Maryland, Richard (Erin) O’Kane of North River, NS, Sean O’Kane of Moncton, and Joel (Carrie) O’Kane of Woodstock; a special friend, Patricia; and dog, Faith; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  He was predeceased by his father, Joseph; brother, Stephen; and grandparents.

By request there was no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and Kim Shaddick (Cousin) and the hymns were "Seek Ye First", "Psalm 23, The Lord Is My Shepherd", "As The Deer", "Amazing Grace", "Songs Of The Angels" and the recessional hymn was "On Eagle's Wings".  The scripture readings were read by James O'Kane (Nephew) and Tara Carson (Niece) and the Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by James O'Kane and Tara Carson.  Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Michael’s Cemetery, SPCA, or AA King Club - Miramichi would be appreciated by the family.
