Claudette Storey Obituary
In Loving Memory of Claudette Storey
1946 – 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Claudette Storey (McKeil) announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Doaktown, New Brunswick.
Born on September 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Zelda (Munn) McKeil.
Claudette is survived by her children Darla (Peter) Pelkey, Wade Storey, and Daphne (Brent) Carter; grandchildren, Erica (Jacob) Lumsden, Mikko (Jessie) Carter, Miranda (Evan) Mills, Luke (Tanisha) Pelkey, Marissa (Cody) Carroll, and nine great grandchildren (Kingsley, Eason, Korver, Alaster, Ezra, Anderson, Evander, Nolan, and Laken). She is also survived by her sisters; Carol (Frankie) Storey, Linda Wall, Lori McKeil, and many nieces, and nephews. Claudette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lloyd Storey, her brother Sterling McKeil Jr, and brother-in-law, Gordan Wall.
Claudette was a woman of deep faith, reading her Bible daily, and always praying for her loved ones. She loved her pastor and her church family at Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church in Doaktown.
She dearly loved her family, and she was an amazingly devoted wife and mother. Her children will always remember her delicious homemade pies and meals (which were a labour of love, since she didn’t enjoy cooking). Her grandchildren will remember that she always had time for them and always made sure that visits to her house were lots of fun. She will also be remembered for her quiet strength, her sense of humor, and how much she loved to sass the people she loved.
She enjoyed shopping, especially for shoes and clothes, loved painting and redecorating her house, and consistently kept a diary for most of her life, as she loved to remember all the special memories.
Her late husband, Lloyd, was the center of her world; we know that she looked forward to the day when she would once again see the love of her life and forever be with the Lover of her soul in her heavenly home.
Visitation was held at Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church, 583 Main St., Doaktown, NB, on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 12pm - 2pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Ron Carroll, followed at 2 pm. Music for the service was provided by grandson, Mikko Carter singing "Far Side Banks Of Jordan", son-in-law, Brent Carter singing "I Want To Know How It Feels" and the recessional song was "Some Call It Heaven, Some Call It Home". The eulogy was presented by son-in-law, Peter Pelkey and comments were given by daughter, Daphne Carter, son-in-law, Brent Carter and grandchildren: Erica Lumsden, Mikko Carter, Miranda Evans, Marissa Carroll and Mikko read what Luke Pelkey wanted read on his behalf. The pallbearers were Mikko Carter, Jacob Lumsden, Evan Mills, Cody Carroll, Doug Storey and Billy Stewart. Interment will be in the church cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church Fund or Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, telephone (506) 773-3492. Memories or condolences may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
