D. Edward Keoughan

      1952 – 2021

Daniel Edward Keoughan of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the age of 69.

Born in Chatham on March 15, 1952, he was the son of the late Patrick and Hilda (Olsen) Keoughan.  He was a Custodian at James M. Hill High School for forty-one years.  He attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

Edward is survived by one sister, Karla Keoughan of Miramichi; five brothers: The Reverend Father John Keoughan of Miramichi, Karsten Keoughan of Miramichi, Terry Keoughan (Ruby) of Napan, Donnie Keoughan (Adora) of Miramichi, and Kevin Keoughan of Miramichi; and six nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Lawrence; and sister-in-law, Wilma.

A PUBLIC visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, from 6-9 PM.  A PUBLIC Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father John Keoughan as Celebrant, The Reverend Father Dan Melanson, and The Reverend Father Leon Creamer as Co-Celebrants.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell, and Mr. Paul Gregoire.  The hymns were:  "Alleluia, Sing to Jesus", "The Lord is My Shepherd", "Be Not Afraid", "Taste and See", Songs of the Angels", and "We Walk By Faith".  The scripture readings were read by Susan MacLeod, and Alana Hansen.  The Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by The Reverend Father Leon Creamer.

The pallbearers were: Bernard Keoughan, Shannon Keoughan, Randy Hansen, Vincent Pineau, Rick McCarthy, Rick Marquis, Michael Lloyd and Courtney Phee.  Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

IMPORTANT:

Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory masking in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination, as well as proof of any medical exemption, and government-issued ID for all those 12 and older upon entry for both visitations and funerals.  Please consider the allocation of extra time required to register for services. To ensure this registration process flows smoothly, please have documents ready at the door upon arrival.  Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
