In Loving Memory of Donna Bowie

1955 – 2024

Donna Maria (Boucher) Bowie of Oak Point, NB, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, NB, on October 4, 2024, at the age of 69, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Halifax, NS, on August 27, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Johanna (Asprey) Boucher. She was Catholic by faith.

Donna is survived by her husband, James Bowie; one daughter, Debra Boucher (Daniel Myles) of Halifax, NS; three grandchildren: Jaelyn, Naomi, and Jehson (Emma Malcolm); three sisters: Rosanna MacIntyre (Tony), Lynn Boucher, and Theresa Boucher all of Halifax, NS; as well as sister-in-law, Loreen Boucher of Halifax, NS; four aunts and one uncle; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and brother/sisters-in-law in NB. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Eddie Boucher; and sister, Valerie Boucher; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

The family is so grateful for her best friend (and cousin), Dorothy Doucette of London, ON, and her Aunt Marg of Halifax, NS. They both had a wonderful bond and friendship with Donna and meant so much to her.

Donna spent many years as a hard-working woman at many jobs.  She loved knitting, crafts, cooking, and baking. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She had the greatest sense of humor and gave the best advice.

More than anything, her family was her absolute world, as she was to them. Her grandchildren were the light of her life; she had such a special bond with each of them that will always remain in their hearts. She was the most precious wife, mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed by them. She was their ‘rock.’ She was also “GG” to Keji and Nova (her fur-grandbabies), whom she adored. They will miss kissing her little face and her cuddles.

The family would like to thank Percy’s Place (in Miramichi, NB) for all the kindness, care and love they have shown. She could not have been in a more beautiful place in her final days.

As per Donna’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 6032 Normandy Drive Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
