In Loving Memory of Eleonor Blanchard

1939-2025

 

Eleonor Blanchard, 86, passed away peacefully on December 1st, 2025, at Percy’s Place in Miramichi, NB.

 

Born in Saint-Anselme, she was the beloved daughter of the late Léo Melanson and the late Geneva (Melanson) Melanson.

 

Eleonor will be sadly missed by her loving children: Danny Blanchard (Janet) of Saint John and Donna Jardine (Philip) of Napan; her brothers: Paul Melanson (late Helena) and Danny Melanson (late Rhonda); her sisters: Iona Gauvin (late Raymond “Peter”), Norma LeBlanc, Lucie Collette (John) and Carmelle Thibodeau (late Hubert) all from Moncton; her grandchildren: Nicole Johnston (Matt), Jessica Blanchard (Alicia McCully) and Tycen Jardine (Riley); her great grandchildren: Max Johnston , Archie Johnston and future baby Georgia Jardine; her special friend, Paul Marcantonio; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Adrian Blanchard; her sisters: Jeanine Richard and Yvonne Landry (late Arthur); as well as her brother, Aurele Melanson “Jim” (Louise).

 

The family would like to thank the staff at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and Percy’s Place Hospice for their dedication, expertise and exceptional care given to Eleonore.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home or the Percy’s Place.

 

Visitation will be held at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901) on Wednesday, December 10th, from 1pm to 2pm only followed by a celebration of life in the chapel at 2pm.
