Eugene A. Gallant

1959 – 2022

Eugene Andrew Gallant of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on November 14, 2022, at the age of 63.

Born in Moncton, NB, on February 15, 1959, he was the son of the late Joan (Mills) Gallant and Fred Gallant.  Eugene retired from Sobeys after 40 years of working in receiving.

Eugene was a great friend, an easy conversationalist, quick with a story, and always there to lend a helping hand.  He enjoyed the simple things in life: a drive around the river with a cup of coffee and puttering around in his garage where he often gathered with family and friends.

Above all, Eugene was a devoted family man.  His wife and children meant everything to him.  He was married to Lynn, his best friend, and soulmate for thirty-two years.  They shared a love of the outdoors and family time was often spent canoeing, four-wheeling, and camping at the beach.  His grandchildren also loved spending time at Poppa’s Beach.  Eugene adored his grandchildren and always had a photo or video of them close at hand or a story to proudly share.  Eugene was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Michele MacAdam (Jon) of Fredericton; son, Nicholas Gallant of PEI; grandchildren: Jordan, Xavier, Zander, Phoebe, and Reid; sister, Marina Gallant of Edmonton, AB; brother, Bill Gallant (Heather) of Miramichi; and step-mother Patsy Gallant of Red Bank; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his mother, Joan (Mills) Gallant; father, Fred Gallant; wife, Lynn (Gowen) Gallant; and brothers: Glen and Joshua.

Eugene’s family would like to thank Dr. Vonkeman, Dr. Slorach, and all the hospital staff for their kindness and compassion.

As per Eugene’s request, there will be no visitation or no funeral service.  Interment will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
