Everett L. Quann Obituary
In Loving Memory of Everett L. Quann
1944 – 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Everett Leslie Quann of Miramichi, NB, husband of the late Vitaline (Vicky) Quann. Everett passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 80, on June 2, 2024.
From a young age Everett was known for mischievous personality, his sense of humour and infectious laugh, but was also a kind and gentle soul, who loved deeply. His love for his family and friends showed no bounds. He was kind, generous, would give the shirt off his back no matter who you were. Every encounter he had left a mark and no matter what, you were sure to leave with a good laugh and a smile. But the love for his fur baby Snap (Shitzu) exceeded it all, they were truly best friends and stayed beside each other until the very end. Everett will be greatly missed by any who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Chatham, NB, on May 12, 1944, he was the son of the late James and Rubena (Ross) Quann. He was a Plumber by trade and then finished his working career driving for Gorman’s Taxi.
Everett lived a simple life, he enjoyed taking his wife Vicky on their annual Sunday date nights, along with sitting at the Wharf watching the boats come in. He also frequently went to music at Richie’s Wharf. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.
Everett is survived by his four daughters: Nicole MacDonald (Roger), Mary Manuel (John), Karina Dolan (Paul), and Shelley Traer (Chris), all of Miramichi; one son, Henry Martin of Miramichi; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Quann of Moncton; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; wife; three daughters: Yvette Martin, Alsima Manuel, and Lorna Duke; grandson, James Martin; granddaughter, Elizabeth Maloney; and two brothers: Richard and Billy Quann.
Visitation was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 207 Wellington St., Miramichi, on Sunday Evening, June 9, 2024, from 6-9 PM and also on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 10-11 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM, from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, with The Venerable Perry Cooper, The Reverend Deacon Ted Quann and The Reverend Deacon Eddie Quann officiating. The music for the service was provided by Claire Fracker and Friends and the hymns were "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". The hymn "You Raise Me Up" was played from recorded music. The scripture readings were read by The Reverend Deacon Eddie Quann, Katrina Trevors and The Reverend Ted Quann. The eulogy was presented by Paul Dolan.
The honorary pallbearers were: Wally Whyte, Derek Quann, Darren Quann, Eddie Quann, Pat Quann, Charles (Bo) Quann, Ted Quann, Roger MacDonald, John Manuel, Paul Dolan and Chris Traer. Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to NB Heart & Stroke, or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB; telephone (506) 773-3492. Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
