In Loving Memory of Frank W. Carruthers

1937 – 2024

Frank Wesley Carruthers, husband of Frances Carruthers of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on February 28, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born in Chatham, on March 12, 1937, he was the son of the late Blain and Olive (Oldfield) Carruthers.  Frank was an Automotive Mechanic by trade.  He attended Bethel United Church where he was an Elder and sat on the Board of Managers.  Frank's passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs and General Motor vehicles made his blood blue not red. His passion for hockey, Nascar races and gardening is where he found great pleasure.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Frances (Gray) Carruthers; two sons: Andrew “Andy” Carruthers (Doris) of Cassillis, and William “Bill” Carruthers (Rhonda) of Miramichi; two grandchildren: Wesley (Sarah), and Katie; two sisters: Jacqueline Ross (late Thomas) of Miramichi, and Karen Negus (Gerald) of Saint John; two brothers: Blaine Carruthers (Aldora), and Allan Carruthers (Maureen) both of Miramichi; as well as nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents.

The Carruthers family would like to say thank you to the Miramichi Regional Hospital 3 East, Moncton City Hospital Oncology Department, George Dumont Hospital Oncology Department, Dr. MacGillivray, Dr. O’Brien, and Dr. Sean Losier for all their kind and compassionate care they gave to Frank.

As per Frank’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private family graveside service will be held in Moorefield Cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
