Frederick (Fred) MacLean Kennedy

January 02, 1932-January 01, 2023

Frederick (Fred) MacLean Kennedy, age 90 of Bay du Vin, NB, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 01, 2023.  Born in Moncton, NB, on January 02, 1932, he was the son of the late Fred and the late Bertha (MacLean) Kennedy.

Because of his love for adventure, he became a Certified Radio Operator for the S/S Gypsum Company in Hantsport, NS.  He worked on their ships travelling extensively to ports in the United States, South America, and the Caribbean. 

Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Government of Canada as a civilian member for the RCMP in the “H” Division Telecommunications in Halifax, NS. 

His favorite memories were spending time on his sailboats, riding his motorcycle across the United States to see the Grand Canyon and spending summer months at his cottage. He also had a love for birdwatching and feeding the birds, and especially made sure they were all well-fed in the wintertime.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Harold (Hal).

Respecting his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. 

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dr. Gerard and Judy Losier Foundation, or to The Miramichi Boys and Girls Club would be appreciated.
