In Loving Memory of Gail Malley

1938 – 2026

Gail Anne Malley (Torrance) of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at Shannex - Losier Hall with her loving family by her side, on April 25, 2026, at the age of 87 years.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, on September 30, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean Torrance.  Gail was an employee at Mount St. Joseph and was a short-order cook at various restaurants for many years.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.

Mom loved being outside with her family - hunting, fishing, and just taking in the fresh air while sitting on her balcony and watching the hummingbirds, which she fed everyday.  She enjoyed knitting, and took great pride in her little flower bed each year.  She loved baking and doing up preserves from the garden.

Gail is survived by two daughters, Gail White (William) and Rhonda Malley (Rick), both of Miramichi, New Brunswick; three sons, Daniel Malley (late Mabel), Donald Malley (Marina), and Kenny Malley (Jackie), all of Miramichi, New Brunswick; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrna of Alberta and Linda of Ontario; one brother, Bobby of Georgia, USA; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Wallace Malley; common-law spouse, John Paquet; son, Wallace; daughter-in-law, Sharon; grandsons, Kenneth “Baby Kenny” Malley and Jamie Malley Hay; and sister, Donna.

At Gail’s request, there was no visitation or funeral mass.  A graveside prayer was held at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Father John Fraser officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Miramichi SPCA or Shannex – Losier Hall would be appreciated by the family.
