Gary P. Hallihan Obituary
Gary P. Hallihan
1965 – 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Patrick Hallihan, 57, of Chatham, New Brunswick, who passed away early Friday morning, October 14th, 2022, at the Moncton City Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Gary was born in Chatham, NB on March 19th, 1965, to both the late Leo and Laura Hallihan (MacDonald). Gary grew up in Bay du Vin, NB, and moved to Chatham in 1997. Gary is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Duffy); his two children, Jordan (Jamie) and Alanna; his grandson, Myles; his sister, Karen (Royce); his brothers, Ronnie (Pam) and Kevin (Ginette), as well as by several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gary was a very kind, caring, friendly man, who always put others before himself and was willing to help them out in any way possible, expecting nothing in return. If he made a friend along the way or was able to share a laugh with somebody while doing so, that was more than enough for him. Gary was a Steel Fabricator for many years and took great pride in his work. He was very respected and looked up to by his coworkers and friends for his hardworking and devoted manner.
Gary was a very comical person with a dry sense of humor, who could very easily put a smile on the faces of those around him. Amongst many things, he loved gatherings where he could entertain others with his guitar and make memories that would last a lifetime. He had a great appreciation for the simple things in life, whether it be spending time snowmobiling, fishing, driving his tractor, relaxing at the camp, going for drives, or enjoying his cup of Tim Horton’s coffee.
Gary came from a very loving, well-structured household and strived to create the same environment for his own family. He loved his wife and children endlessly and with the birth of his grandson Myles, he gained a new little best friend, the apple of his eye. Gary was deeply loved by so many, will be greatly missed by all, and remembered by everyone.
The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals who cared for Gary and extend an extra special thank you to Dr. Gerard Losier, who went above and beyond with his services.
A visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Adams Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant. The music for the service was recorded music and the songs were "When I Get Where I'm Going" sung by Brad Paisley & Dolly Parton, "Psalms 23" sung by Shane & Shane, "Amazing Grace" sung by Alan Jackson and "Drink A Beer" sung by Luke Bryan. The scripture readings were read by Lynn Carney and Jeremy Walsh. The Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Bradley Lebel and the eulogy was presented by Judy Losier.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, telephone (506) 773-3492, or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
