In Loving Memory of George Patrick Moran
1953 – 2023
George Patrick Moran, husband of Margaret Moran (Nowlan) of Weldfield, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on August 7th, 2023, at the age of 69.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, on August 12th, 1953, George was the son of the late Benjamin and Ellen “Nellie” Moran (Dignam). He was a hardworking and valued Industrial Mechanic and Welder for over 40 years. In his free time, George enjoyed spending time in his award-winning garden and planting flowers with Margaret in their happy place. He spent countless hours hunting, fishing, wood working, and enjoying sports. Catholic by faith, he was husband to Margaret, father to five children and grandfather to thirteen children. Above all, George was a real family man, and his family meant everything to him. He was immensely proud of them all.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Margaret; four sons: Jeremy (Sara), Josh (Sonya), Jarrett (Sherri), Jordan (Tara); and daughter, Natasha Murphy (Greg). He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren: Megan, Makayla (Alex), Matthew, Mya, Kaitlyn, Grady, Cayden, Connor, Kai, Kolton, Arlo, Thomas, and Isabella; brothers and sisters: Jean MacDonald (Douglas), Evelyn Cavanaugh (Arthur), Margaret Moran Glidden (John), Kenny Moran (Colleen), Patsy Murdock (David), Diane Cocoran (Danny), Michael Moran, and Wayne Moran (Mary); sister-in-law, Martha Moran; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Nowlan family.
Besides his parents, George is predeceased by his father-in-law, Joseph Nowlan and mother-in-law, Noreen Nowlan; sister, Kathleen; brothers: Gerard, Byron, and Kevin; nieces: Kathy and Celine. As well, George is predeceased by several aunts and uncles from the Moran and Dignam families, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Nowlan family.
By the request of the family, and in accordance with George’s wishes, a private visitation and private Funeral Mass will occur at Adams Funeral Home and Chapel, 140 King St. Miramichi, NB.
George was very grateful for the work of the Josie Foundation and loved to share his appreciation about how helpful the foundation was.
