Guy F. Lamkey

1973 – 2021

Guy Francis Lamkey of Miramichi, passed away at his residence on March 7, 2021, at the age of 48.

Born in Chatham on January 24, 1973, he was the son of Mary Eileen Lamkey and the late Frank Lamkey.  He was a driver for Midland Courier and attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Eileen Lamkey of Miramichi; daughter, Casie Lamkey of Miramichi; son, Zackery Lamkey of Miramichi; mother of his children, Odette Lamkey of Miramichi; four sisters: Elizabeth Lamkey (Greg) of Miramichi, Margaret Lynn Jardine (Terry) of Miramichi, Nancy Lee Racette (Yvon) of Napan, and Patricia Lamkey (Manzer) of Miramichi; two brothers: Jim Lamkey (Joanne) of Miramichi and Donnie Lamkey (Rhonda) of Napan; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very dearly.  He was predeceased by his father, Frank;  sister, Dorothy; and brother, Thomas.

A PRIVATE visitation was held for family only. 

A PUBLIC Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from St. Michael’s Basilica at 11 am with Father John Keoughan as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by David Bonnell, and Mike Davis.  The hymns were:  "I am the Bread of Life", "Here I am Lord", "On Eagles Wings".  The recessional hymn was "Jealous of the Angels".  The eulogy was presented by Tara Roy, scripture readings were read by Daniel Jardine and Matthew Racette.  The intecessory prayer was offered by Abbie Martin.  Active pallbearers were:  Jeffrey Lamkey, Daniel Jardine, John Lamkey, Matthew Racette, Dale Jenkins, Gordon Kelly, Ian Howe, Jason MacCarthy, and honary pallbearer, Jonathon Mazerolle.  Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
