Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Jardine Obituary
In Loving Memory of Jaqueline R. Jardine (“Jackie”)
1965 – 2026
Jaqueline R. Jardine, lovingly known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Miramichi, New Brunswick, surrounded by love. She was born on July 25, 1965, in Toronto, Ontario, to Anna Jardine and the late Warren Jardine.
Jackie lived a life defined by generosity, laughter, and a deep love for family. She devoted her entire life to giving to others—through her work, her time, her care, and her service. Anyone who knew Jackie knew she was always the first to step up and help someone in need. Over the years she became very well known throughout the community from her many years working with the public, and she built countless friendships along the way. To a few of her closest friends, she was also affectionately known as “Ethel.”
Jackie had a huge heart that was full of love for her family and friends. She was the cherished sister of Robert “Buddy” Jardine (Mary Lynn), Darlene Jardine Radics, Sandy Jardine (Shawna), and Kelly Jardine (Raymond). She was predeceased by her sister, Angela.
She is survived by her long-time partner, Charles Hay; her daughters, Stephanie Jardine and Brittany Jardine; her stepdaughter, Charlene Hay (Jason); and her stepson, Darren Hay (Michelle).
Jackie was an incredibly proud grandmother and found great joy in her grandchildren: Jaden Jardine (Hailey), Kohen Jepson, Kade Jardine, Corbin Hay, Troy Hay, Tyler Hay, Khrislyn Colford, and Jordyn LeBlanc. She was predeceased by her cherished grandson, Kobe, as well as her godson and nephew, Sheldon McIntyre.
Family was the center of Jackie’s world. There was not a child in her very large family who didn’t immediately love her. She was widely known as the “favorite aunt” to many nieces and nephews and shared a special bond with countless cousins and extended family members.
Jackie loved life’s simple joys. Saturday nights were often spent with her grandson Kade watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play, cheering and enjoying every moment together. She was also a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and loved talking sports with family and friends.
She treasured time spent travelling with her children and grandchildren, especially the many March Breaks and holidays filled with trips to Toronto and new adventures together. Those memories meant the world to her.
Jackie also had a remarkable connection with animals. She had a special bond with the woodland creatures around her home and was affectionately known as a bit of a “fox and squirrel whisperer.” Many evenings could be spent watching her feed and care for the animals she loved so much.
Music was always part of Jackie’s life as well, especially country music, which was often playing wherever she was. She had a playful spirit and loved playing tricks on people—especially when it came to sneaking up and giving someone a good scare, something she took great pride in.
On many Monday nights you could find Jackie at the local Bingo hall, enjoying the fun, the community, and the laughter that came with it.
Jackie will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her generosity, and the immense love she had for her family and friends. Her presence brought warmth and joy to everyone around her, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.
