Janine Marie Olsen
1946-2021
Janine Marie Olsen, wife of the late Wayne Olsen of Miramichi, NB passed away on September 3, 2021, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing home at the age of 75.
Born in Tracadie, NB on August 31, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Bertha Comeau. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Loggieville and was a member of the C.W.L. being involved with the church for many years. Janine was a dedicated mother first & foremost. She especially loved her role as a grandmother. She was a master homemaker, a dancing queen, a best friend, and a shining light with the biggest heart filled with love for all she met along her life’s journey.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Blakney of Sackville NB; son, Deney Olsen (Kimberly) of Gibbons AB; sister, Georgette Hall (Nathan) of Miramichi; brothers: Roger Comeau of Miramichi, Ronnie Comeau (Karen) of Miramichi; sister-in-law, Nancy Comeau; and granddaughter, Shelby-Lynn Olsen.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Wayne; brothers: Dennis Comeau and Leon Comeau; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Comeau.
By request, there was no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Loggieville, NB on September 22, 2021, at 11 AM with Fr. John Keoughan as Celebrant, and Fr. Dan Bastarache as Concelebrant. Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain. Hymns included the processional hymn "Healer of Our Every Ill", as well as "I Will Never Forget You", "Taste and See", "Hail Mary; Gentle Woman", "Songs of Angels", and the recessional hymn was "Sing with all the Saints in Glory". The eulogy was presented by Angie Olsen. Scripture readings were by Jackie Gould, and Diane Robichaud. Prayers of the Faithful were by Diane Robichaud. Honorary Pallbearers were: Carol Estey, Ruth Loggie, John Boudreau, Catherine Williston, Patsy Gauthier, Olive LeBelle, Sandra Richard, Anita Duplessie, Tara Robinson, and Cheryl Ross. Interment followed in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery, Loggieville.
Please be advised of new Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory masking in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination, as well as proof of any medical exemption, and ID for all those 12 and older upon entry to the funeral. Please consider arriving 10-15 minutes early. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
