In Loving Memory of Jean Brideau

1937 – 2025

The death of Mary Jean (Jean) Brideau, wife of the late William (Billy) Brideau of Bridgeview Hall, occurred Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 88.

Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on March 31, 1937, Mary Jean Brideau was the daughter of the late Alma (Petrie) and William Robinson.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Mary (Patrick), Dianne (Kenny), and Colleen (Steve); and her son, Donald (Debbie), who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Jason, Hannah, Jacob, Lucas, Erica, Kurtis, and Carla; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret, Mabel, and Ida; as well as her brothers William, John, James, and Alfred.

Family was everything to Jean. She passed on valuable words of wisdom, common sense, faith, and a great sense of humour. Jean always had a quick-witted comeback that made everyone laugh. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Upon Jean’s request, there was no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Father David Rioux as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain and the hymns were "I Am The Bread Of Life", "To You Oh Lord I Lift My Soul", "Amazing Grace", "Hail Mary", "Gentle Woman", "Songs Of The Angels" and the recessional hymn was "You Raise Me Up".  The scripture reading was read by granddaughter, Erica.  Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Miramichi, New Brunswick.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bridgeview Hall for the exceptional care she received while a resident there. Your kindness meant so much to Jean and her family.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
